The Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRC) is pleased to announce the confirmation of its Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Rabiu Olowo, as Nigeria’s representative to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Intergovernmental Working Group of Experts on International Standards of Accounting and Reporting (ISAR).
The confirmation reinforces Nigeria’s continued membership and active participation in ISAR, the leading United Nations forum dedicated to promoting high-quality corporate reporting, transparency, accountability, and sustainable development through internationally recognized reporting standards and practices.
As Nigeria’s representative, Dr. Olowo will participate in ISAR Members’ Meetings and contribute to discussions aimed at shaping the group’s agenda and advancing global initiatives on financial reporting, sustainability reporting, corporate governance, and disclosure practices.
The confirmation reflects Nigeria’s sustained commitment to strengthening financial reporting and corporate transparency in line with international best practices. It also provides an opportunity for the country to contribute to the development of global reporting frameworks while sharing its experiences and perspectives with other member states.
Nigeria is one of the 21 member countries elected to this important subsidiary body of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
Dr. Olowo is expected to participate in the 43rd Session of ISAR in Geneva, Switzerland, where he will join other international experts, regulators, policymakers, and stakeholders in deliberations on emerging issues in corporate reporting and sustainable finance.
The Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria remains committed to supporting initiatives that enhance investor confidence, strengthen corporate accountability, and promote the adoption of globally accepted reporting standards.
