The Board Chairman and President of the Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria (SCGN), Mr Muhammad Kabiru Ahmad, recently led high-level executives of the Society to the head office of the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) of Nigeria on a courtesy visit where they sought to collaborate and partner with the Council on ways to strengthen and deepen corporate governance practice in Nigeria.
Mr Ahmad, in his remarks, noted that, “We thought we could partner with the Council to identify individuals and institutions that can be supported and that can be recognised in the field of corporate governance.
“We thought we could have an award in honour of the founder of the Society to be presented to individuals and corporate institutions that [have] upheld strong principles of good corporate governance and also promote a very strong culture of governance,” he further added.
